¿Qué puedes hacer en Portmán?

Where to eat

  • Casa Cegarra: a cosy, traditional meal.
  • Los Tres Pacos: they have a very reasonably priced set lunch menu on weekdays, but don’t forget to book a table.
  • El Cubano: fancy a meal with a sea view? Don’t miss this beach bar, open all year round. Order the rice dish in advance – you’ll love it.
  • El Lastre: the other beach bar (but it’s only open in summer).
  • Bar Nuevo Café: breakfasts and sandwiches just a stone’s throw from home.
  • Majín Bar: a wonderful terrace for a drink.
  • El Rincón de Rosa: for a drink until the early hours.

Beach

You can go by car, on foot or by bike. Whichever route you take will lead you to our lovely Lastre beach – perhaps the best choice if you’re travelling with children. The water is shallow and crystal-clear, with the Portmán lighthouse and pine forest providing a picturesque backdrop..

Mountains

If you enjoy hiking, grab your walking poles and set off. Trails that will lead you to hidden beaches, forgotten lighthouses, Roman ruins and abandoned mines.

Enjoy the sunset from the lighthouse, or a well-deserved rest whilst gazing out to sea.

Culture

Let’s not forget that Portmán was the birthplace of mining in the area, and there are important buildings to see in the village itself, marked with information signs.

What if I need something?

In the town centre, you’ll find supermarkets, shops, cafés, restaurants, a doctor’s surgery, and bus stop.

Don't forget the La Unión market on Tuesday mornings. Whatever you need, you'll find it.

And remember, Cartagena is just a twenty-minute drive away.
